We connect people living with neuroendocrine cancer through local and online peer-support catch-ups, creating a welcoming space to share experiences,…

We understand the importance of community, so we help patients connect with each other by advertising regional peer-support catch-ups hosted by volunteers, and online catch-ups. These informal sessions are all about creating a friendly environment so patients can share their experiences.
Living long-term with NETs means patients grapple with questions such as when/whether to tell a new employer about their cancer? How to manage overseas travel and insurance? Whether to stay in full time work? We know that our patients are the best source of wisdom when it comes to answering these sorts of questions.
Of course questions about treatments and symptom management might crop up, so information and support is always available from Avril by emailing contact us.
We know that not everyone lives in an area where there’s a regular catch-up so we also host occasional online catch-ups too.
Hosted online by our Information and Support Manager, Avril, this is a great way to connect with those who can provide support, advice, comfort and understanding about similar things that you might be experiencing.
These sessions are a safe place to raise issues, ask questions and provide your opinions on whatever the topic of conversation might be.

In various locations around New Zealand we have patient groups who arrange regular catch-ups in a local café or restaurant. These are fabulous opportunities to connect face-to-face with other patients and their supporters.
